Thanks to Cherryland Electric Cooperative members who participate in “Operation Round Up” and choose to round up their monthly electrical bill to the nearest dollar, Cherryland Cares has awarded Big Brothers Big Sisters with $6,000 to arrange academic tutoring for some very-deserving kids in the program.

Cherryland Cares is a five-member board, made up of coop members who distribute grants to area nonprofit agencies from money derived through the “Operation Round-Up” program.

“We are so thankful to Cherryland Electric Cooperative for giving us the opportunity to arrange tutoring for some of our kids who desperately want and need it”, said Executive Director, Cecilia Chesney, “All they need is just a little extra support and guidance, and they’ll do great”, she said.
